What is Codex?

Codex is a system for managing tasks that focuses on maximizing your meaningful activities, via two main innovations:

  • Codex implements a physical paradigm for task identification and organization using hexes. These hexes allow the user to create and physically interact with tasks. The position of the hexes on the wall helps the user organize their tasks in an intuitive way. The screens provide a rich, intuitive interface for showing how much of a task is done. And a companion app allows the user to take the hex-based distribution of tasks on the go.

  • Codex implements a powerful task-analysis AI that ‘takes over’ for users in the case of menial or simple tasks. By helping users identify meaningful vs. menial tasks, Codex helps users focus on what really matters.

Why this project?

We selected the Codex project because we were excited by the change to explore new and innovative ways to organize tasks. Everyone (including us!) faces the challenges of doing many things with little time, and the frustrations of working hard at unimportant tasks. We wanted to explore better ways of helping ourselves and everyone around us manage their time better.
